Abstract

Anax ephippiger is a widespread dragonfly species whose range extends from Sri Lanka and India through Africa to the Mediterranean region and Europe. However, the species is previously known only from two sightings in Sri Lanka. Thirty-eight years after the last sighting of the species, the authors photographed a male A. ephippiger on 3rd of November, 2008 around 4.00 pm.
